In 2016 the CSA is set to work even more on education and training through its contacts with the representants of the African diaspora in Italy. To do so the Centre will propose various exchange projects with the African Continent and activities to strengthen the relations between the Piedmontese and African academic world. Namely, the CSA will:
-
Boost e-learning activities, following the project of “formation on Africa” to which the CSA has already contributed, offering educational content on the social and cultural dynamics of Africa. This activity can be integrated in the educational projects of other bodies or by including researchers member of the diaspora and experts from African academic institutions.
-
Propose cycles of lectures curated by the CSA in secondary schools, following two main themes: the political history of Africa and the dynamics of migrations;
The activities related to the first part of the project will take place in three events hosted by the Auditorium of Liceo Giordano Bruno (two in March and one in April). These events will constitute an educational course on the African Continent, through both an historical and contemporary perspective, with specific focus on the issue of migrations.
The final event of the “educational course” was the screening on May 25th at the Cinema Massimo of the movie "Tey", directed by the Senegalese director Alain Gomis, attended by more than 200 students.
