The Centre for African Studies has inaugurated a partnership with the University of Nottingham, starting in 2016, that brings students in Italy to experience activities in our office and to cooperate to our initiatives. During their collaboration with us, they have the opportunity to develop their studying skills, researching on topics of interest for our Centre.
On this occasion, we publish two brief essays from Georgina Higgs and Michelle Tambi. Ms Higgs analyses the exploitation of child labor in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, highlighting International key factors behind this phenomenon. Ms Tambi researches the migration policy devised by the African Union, strengthening our Centre’s view that migration is in the first place an African social and political issue.
