INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND THE LAKE: AN INTERVIEW WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

CHIARA DANESE

Chiara Danese is a graduate student in International Sciences at the University of Turin. Always interested in the dynamics of international politics, with a focus on the European Union, she began her career working with the Consular Corps of Turin and the Centre for African Studies. In September 2019, after winning the MAECI CRUI call, she moved to New York for four months to work in the press office of the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations. She is currently completing her thesis project entitled "The water diplomacy of the European Union: the case of the Sahel" supported by Professor Giovanni Finizio.

SIMONE RANCATI (CSA)

Simone Rancati, born in La Spezia (1994), got a bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Turin in 2017 and is currently attending a masters’ degree in Global and Local Development at University of Bologna, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa. He collaborates with the CSA on the current project.

DR. FRANCESCA DI MAURO

Francesca Di Mauro, master at College of Europe and PhD in Economics at Université Libre de Bruxelles, currently Head of Unit Central Africa at DG International Cooperation and Development of European Commission, where she has a 19-years’ experience in the External Action domain, designing and managing programmes for macro-economic support, public financial management reforms, governance and accountability.

DR. SONJA KÕPPEL

Sonja Köppel, masters’ degree in Master in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management at Central European University, has a 12 years’ experience at United Nations Commission for Europe (UNECE), where in 2019 was appointed at the role of Secretary of the Water Convention and co-Secretary of the Protocol on Water and Health. Her research works focus on the topics of water policy, cross-border water management, climate change, environmental policy, international environmental policy, international organisations.
