DR. EMANUELE FANTINI

Emanuele Fantini is a political scientist specialised in development studies. His research focuses on the political and moral economy of water governance, the process of state formation in Africa, the role of ICT and media in the processes of development and state formation in Sub-Sahara Africa. Emanuele has more than 10 years’ experience in international development cooperation, working for Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, multilateral institutions (UN Habitat), local authorities and NGOs, in Africa, the Balkans and Myanmar. He is the scientific coordinator for the current project.

DR. COLETTE MEFFIRE (CSA)

She is a journalist and English teacher based in Turin and a CSA collaborator. She got a bachelor’s degree from the University of Yaounde 1. She has worked with several NGOs. Since 2018, she has been teaching English in Milan in companies: LUXOTTICA and BNP PARIBAS. Before, she taught directors and had group lessons with workers of FCA and IKEA.

DR. BERNARDO VENTURI

Bernardo Venturi is Senior Fellow at IAI, where he focuses on Africa, civilian crisis management, CFSP/CSDP, peacebuilding, and development. He holds a Ph.D. at the University of Bologna and has 14 years of experience in different think-tanks, universities and NGOs. He is also Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Agency for Peacebuilding (AP). At IAI, he currently works on different Africa-EU initiatives, contributes to the activities of the European Think Tank Group (ETTG) and leads the research project “Governance and security in the Sahel: tackling mobility, demography and climate change”.

GEN. BRIG. SALEH BALA

Brigadier General Saleh Bala (Retired) is the Chief Executive Officer of White Ink Consult. Dr. Bala had peacekeeping experience as a UN Military Observer at the United Nations Verification Mission in Angola II (1995-96) and was the Military Chief of Staff, United Nations Operations in Cote D’Ivoire (2011-2012). He served in a consultant capacity as the Senior Special Adviser (Policy and Strategy Development) to the Minister of Interior, Federal Republic of Nigeria (2015-2017).
